Tea Pot Green What's that layer of fat on freshly brewed tea?
All I see when I brew Lipton black or other black teas such as Ceylon tea from Sri Lanka. Never with green tea. I brew in large kettle and when it cools down a bit, the lid of the pot with this thin layer of fat, a bit like the soup is cooled in the refrigerator covered. Any idea what is it? Is it bad to drink it? The pot is clean, I've only washed, as it makes the tea and I cleaned many times to make sure it wasn't there. I doubt it is the water either. I never notice this in green tea or other beaverages. I thought it's either tea Tea bags, or the string ...
Tea contains oil. The oil comes when the tea is brewed. You see more if hot water is used to prevent SE tea. You'll see, though with a little sun tea. Better tea has more. and it is safe to drink.
