Excellent Chinese Have all the Chinese have an extremely high rate of excellent education? And how many percent?
I tend to oriental asian education system very interesting find in Eastern Asian countries and in America when they come here and I like it, but I wanted to know.
I am an American with two children in China's national school system, the first and third classes. I teach master's and PhD students in a Chinese university. Here are my observances: My two children are only in Chinese schools. They have never been to school moved to the United States. They do a lot to learn by heart and they have tons of homework every night. They do not participate in activities after school, because they are offered only rarely. Dance and drawing are often "extra" classes on weekends, as is English. However, there are very few sports programs for boys. Martial arts (Wushu, Tae Kwon Do, gongfu) study offered on a limited context, but most of the children. One of my friends First grader can not play when everything is ready, because "we are in first grade now - you have to think about university." My third Grader is required to do their math homework with ink. This is because perfection is expected. You have to use white-out tape, if they make a mistake. She slows down, so that every student strives for perfection. My daughter is in Rule 70 of the upper and lower 80 Chinese on their grades. We're fine with that. She came home last week with a 92! Big improvement! However, the teacher said that they had to pass 95 or higher to the class. It is extremely Respect for teachers and children do not cause trouble classroom. They know that their future is on these trips, and that where there are tons of other students waiting for their seats. My children have 59 classmates in her class. There is only one teacher! My students do not know how to use subjective reasoning, nor do they are very creative. They were also taught how to memorize and they know a lot of materials. However, in order to present material in new ways or to use skills in a different way is totally alien. The panic at the thought of a test, because so much has been decided in their lives on the basis of test scores. Public humiliation was as a motivator used. When students take national standardized tests, their results are published for all to see. Teachers know, were the lowest results. People tell students to make a 95 that they should make 100's. This leads to rampant fraud. In 2008, approximately 7.3 million students of the college entrance exam. Only about half of them passed and made it into university. So why do I have my children in the schools? Our goal is to language and cultural acquisition, and a Core Foundation. The early grades to teach pretty much the same as other schools around the world, perhaps with more emphasis on mathematics and science. I teach them English and history at home. However, they are not above the sixth grade goes into this system, because the scope of the training is too narrow. My two children love going to school, but My son's first class struggles with the homework. We do not make him do it because we do not think about university at this time. He needs a first child. I know this is a long answer, but maybe it gives you a better idea of what school in China is really like.
