Traditional Thai architecture and archeology at the Palace Suan Pakkad

Once the home of Princess Chumphot, Suan Pakkad Palace is located on Si Ayutthaya Road, near the intersection Phayathai. Princess Chumbhot was one of the prominent art collectors in Thailand. There are five traditional Thai houses built to monitor the well beautiful park and managed to show a huge collection of Thai antiquities.

These houses were first set in 1952 by Prince and Princess of Chumphot Nagor svarga built. Some of the exhibits are Chumphot by the ancestors of the Prince and aged over a few centuries. The lacquer pavilion is located at the southern end the park is located, while the Ban Chiang and Marsi galleries at the Chumphot Pantip collection of prehistoric items.

Previously, the lacquer Pavilion in Ban Kling Temple is located, and dates from the seventeenth century. It was moved from Prince Chumphot after receiving a formal approval from the Dept.

The exterior is beautifully carved in wood, while the interior walls are made with gold over black lacquer. There are several drawings and paintings inside, that the various events Buddha in the context display, and also from the classical Indian Ramayana. There are also many images that to give a vision of the contemporary Thai life in this period and show some of the first tourists to Ayudha. This is a unique part of the collection to make the Wang Suan Pakkad exclusive of all others in Thailand.

The famous Marsi Gallery is located on the second floor of the Chumphot Pantin from Art Center. The gallery takes its name from Marsi Paribatra, the daughter of Prince and Princess of Chumphot Nagor svarga. It was originally created with the aim of promoting artistic activity and for the holding of exhibitions for artists during throughout the year.

The park around the Palace Suan Pakkad be seen from exquisitely beautiful with colorful flower beds, and the Baiyoke Tower clearly out of the garden, which is the tallest building in Thailand. The Wang Suan Pakkad can be visited on most days and is easily accessible from Sukhumvit, Bangkok.
